ABOUT ME
I'm a documentary filmmaker, licensed clinical psychologist, and consultant based in San Francisco.
My film work focuses on challenging the power structure of traditional documentary filmmaking by centering participants as key collaborators in the storytelling process, and is informed by the principles of Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis, a psychological qualitative research method which seeks to explore how individuals create meaning and understanding of their own experiences. I'm interested in intersectional stories of social justice, and how targeted communities use resilience as a form of resistance. My work has been made possible with grant support from the Arcus Foundation, Horizons Foundation, Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice, San Francisco Arts Commission, Seed&Spark in conjunction with WeTransfer, and Transforming Justice / Tides Foundation.
My consultation services include providing LGBTQA+ and kink/BDSM cultural competency, as well as anti-oppression/anti-colonial best practices, to media makers, health care providers, design and technology professionals, and educators. I'm part of Reps On Set, a team of production advisors, Intimacy Coordinators, and advocates for underrepresented identities in film and television, particularly BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and those with marginalized sexual identities and expressions. We help creatives achieve authentic, respectful representation that supports storytellers and connects with audiences.
I currently offer licensed psychotherapy and coaching services to individuals, couples, and multi-partner relationships on issues of sexuality, gender, and intimacy; healing from past trauma; and harnessing creative potential and productivity. I also provide consultation and didactic training to mental health providers and clinicians working with LGBTQA+ communities, as well as those providing mental health and peer counseling services in jails and prisons. I've got a Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, my post-doctorate fellowship was in forensic psychology.
Other good things to know about me? Queer. Non-Binary. Chihuahua enthusiast. Geek.
